Spin-off of Columbo featuring the titular character's wife who is mentioned but never appears in the parent series. (Likewise, Peter Falk's Columbo character never appeared on the spin-off.) The series ran only 13 episodes but changed title twice, first to Kate Columbo and then to Kate Loves a Mystery when it was decided to eliminate all connections to Columbo by renaming the character and including a reference to her having divorced (an event never mentioned in the main Columbo series). The series also featured Columbo's daughter, a character never even hinted at in the main series (the child actress who plays her later went on to become a noted musician).

23skidoo 21st Jul 2015		The skeleton in Capt. Janeway's closet! Seriously, though, I liked the show but the attempt to make it a spin-off of Columbo was kind of ill-conceived and clearly abandoned at the start because no attempt was ever made at a crossover or anything. I've been listening to Lili Haydn's music for years and had no idea she was in this show. After sending in the entry (so I can't edit the note anymore) I found out the show had a fourth title during its short run, Kate the Detective. No wonder this show failed to find an audience, its title kept changing.
