Notes

The original run of the series lasted from 1963 to 1988, with longtime co-host Jim Fowler taking over from original host Marlin Perkins in 1985 after Perkins retired. The series returned in 2002 for a series of specials on the Animal Planet cable network and resumed weekly broadcasts in 2005, airing on TV until 2011. In 2013 the series returned in an online webisode format.

Insurance company Mutual of Omaha has sponsored the series since it began and, in fact, was involved in the series' creation. The series is one of only a few series surviving into the 2000s to retain the 1950s-60s format of including a sponsor's name in its official title.
