Scheduled to air after Late Night with David Letterman, this newsmagazine-style series was one of the first national programs to air in the 1:30-2:30 time slot in the pre-24 hour news cycle era. Overnight was notable for injecting humor into its reporting when the story justified it.

23skidoo 12th Jul 2015		I remember staying up late to watch this show when I could. The journalism was well handled, the stories were interesting, and the two hosts (especially the original pairing of Ellerbee and Dobyns) were very funny. They could be serious when necessary, but their dry sense of humor was appreciated in an era when a lot of us still expected that at any moment nuclear missiles from Russia could be coming over the horizon.
