Notes

A revival of the 1950s-1960s series. Preceded by a TV movie that aired earlier in 1985. The series was launched as part of a short-lived revival of the anthology format that also included a revival of The Twilight Zone and Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories.

Although Hitchcock died in 1980, he continued to "host" the new series by way of colorized and reedited versions of original introductions taken from the original series.

The series was cancelled after one season on NBC but later moved to the US cable network for three additional seasons.

23skidoo 16th Jul 2015		I'd like to think Hitchcock would have approved of his old footage being reused. And it's actually the only time I can cite in which colorizing B&W footage (something I am otherwise vehemently opposed to) was justified outside of restoration. My favorite episode of this featured George Lazenby playing James Bond. Well, they were only allowed to utter "Ja...." when referring to the character, but it's pretty obvious it's meant to be Bond. And it proved that he actually would have made a half-decent 007 if he'd been given a bit more time in the role!
