Notes

Launched in November 1979 as a late-night recap of news related to the Iran Hostage Crisis and titled "The Iran Crisis: America Held Hostage", the series changed its title to Nightline in 1980. After the hostages were released, Nightline continued on as a nightly newsmagazine program.

A second version of Nightline is produced for the cable network Fusion.

23skidoo 31st May 2016		I haven't been able to locate a title screen from the show's original Iran Crisis title. Since the show is overwhelmingly remembered as Nightline, I used that as the main title, but if a mod wants to change it for the 1979 title, please feel free. This show used to scare the hell out of me as a kid. The Cold War was at its height and after their finished with the Iran hostage situation, it often seemed as if each time I tuned in before going to bed they were talking about how nuclear war was about to break out...
