Notes

Two-part miniseries period drama based upon the John Braine novel which had previously been adapted for cinema in 1959.

Originally produced for broadcast in 2011, airing was delayed a year due to a dispute over the rights to the novel that erupted after production had ended. As such the miniseries gained notoriety as it aired two weeks after the debut of co-star Jenna-Louise Coleman on Doctor Who, leading to tabloid coverage of her love scenes in this production.
