This was a show I could never get into because I was turned off by it very early on. They seemed determined to make it a Superboy show without anything super going on, and I watched the first couple episodes and decided they were more interested in making it a Roswell clone. Even when they finally starting bringing in more superheroes from the comics, I still couldn't get into it though I had a spark of interest when Supergirl (though they couldn't use that name) joined for one season and the comic character Zatanna appeared in one episode and was almost perfectly realized. The rest of the time it just didn't work and when it got to the point where the lead actor was older than Christopher Reeve was when he played Superman in the movies having them continually refuse to let him don the S got to be a joke after awhile. I respect the fact the show is one of only two US sci-fi/fantasy series to ever make it to 10 seasons (the other being Stargate SG-1) but personally it was a decade of wasted opportunity. Fortunately it looks like they are not going to make the same mistakes with the new Supergirl series.
