Notes

Although promoted as a sitcom, this was in fact a "dramedy". It was also produced in an unusual fashion: approximately half of an episode would be filmed in front of a live studio audience, while the rest would be filmed without, with the sets transformed into a standard studio set (meaning the "fourth wall" normally occupied by the audience would be filled in by, in most cases, an actual wall). Scenes that would not be filmed in front of the audience would be read by the actors radio-drama style and audience laughter recorded.

23skidoo 22nd Aug 2015		I was able to attend a taping of one of an early episode back in the fall of 1998 and I was struck by the unusual way the show was recorded (as detailed in the Notes). I'm not sure who I was more thrilled to see in person: Benson (Robert Guillaume) or the girl from Sliders (Sabrina Lloyd).
