My missus and me started from the start and watched every one and I have to say I'm not really aware of good and bad seasons, we enjoyed the lot.
But to be honest I have absolutely no desire to re-visit any episode.
Once was enough, I've found that the replayability factor is stuck at zero.
To paraphrase Captain Picard:
"Make it no".

This is the that soured me on star trek. In the original series, they'd meet an enemy, they'd blast him out of space.
In this series, they'd meet an enemy, they'd invite him in for tea and ask him if he'd like to date one of their sisters!

@biffbampow. Start watching from the beginning of Season 3 and you'll see it works a lot better and you don't really need to know much about the first two seasons (except for what happened to Tasha Yar).

@23skidoo - you've probably just helped explain why I gave up on this series... I saw a handful of episodes from the first two seasons, they bored me rigid and I never looked at it again. Surprisingly, my Mum actually got into it and continues to sing it's praises.

@zabadak. After the first two seasons I'd tend to agree with you, but it's amazing the show survived its awful first two years. There were a couple of gem episodes, don't get me wrong, but going back I've found most of the first two years to be almost unwatchable. Sadly, the show didn't start getting good until Roddenberry stepped away. (To be fair, a writers strike during Season 2 didn't help, forcing them to use some scripts from an aborted 1970s revival of TOS to fill time, though that still didn't excuse them from wasting the season finale on a flashbacks episode). I see Enterprise cut down quite a lot, but people really need to look at the first two years of TNG to see how bad Trek could really be. A few episodes made Spock's Brain look like classic SF. I tend to mark the episode where an alternate timeline of Tasha Yar and the Enterprise-C appeared (Yesterday's Enterprise) as when TNG stated to get good and the rest of its run was terrific. But I still consider DS9, as a whole, to be superior.

PS did the series logo image upload properly? It looks squashed for some reason.
