An attempt at replicating the Love Boat formula, only on a massive futuristic train that crossed America. At the time of broadcast it was the most expensive weekly series ever produced for US TV (beating the previous record holder, Battlestar Galactica) due primarily to the cost of the train-based sets. It was also one of TV's most expensive flops, being cancelled after only nine episodes, which reportedly nearly bankrupted NBC.

23skidoo 13th Jul 2015		Certainly one of the most bizarre series of the era. The notes and the title screen don't do this justice. Here are the opening credits so you can see how insane this show was. (Even funnier is this is the most expensive show ever made up to this point, yet no one appeared to catch the formatting error on Michael DeLano's credit! (Everyone else's is in all-caps.) I can imagine veteran actor Robert Alda saying to himself "My son is doing MASH and I'm stuck with Supertrain.")
