Notes

US adaptation of the Survivor format created in the UK by Charlie Parsons (though an actual UK version didn't debut until 2001). The US series was one of the first to use the title Survivor; previous international adaptations of Parsons' "survival of the fittest" concept - first broadcast in Sweden in 1997 - carried variations of the title Expedition Robinson.

Usually two seasons are broadcast each calendar, with each competition taking place in a different exotic location. This has allowed it to amass more than 30 seasons in only a 15-year period on the air.

Probst has hosted every edition of Survivor US to date (as of 2015).

23skidoo 23rd Oct 2015		I remember when announcing the winner of the first season was front-page news. Fifteen years (and 31 seasons!) later, I'm surprised it's still going as the novelty not to mention public awareness faded a good decade ago on this. I added a couple of contestant names with prior or later TV notability; yes, that is Blair from Facts of Life.
