Useless trivia dept: While starring on this show, Bruno Gerussi became a commercial pitchman for a microwave oven company (back when they were new). Possibly due to his popularity in the commercials for several years in the 1970s he hosted a weekday cooking series called Celebrity Cooks which was basically a talk show in disguise. That show would be almost forgotten today if not for the fact Bob Crane of Hogan's Heroes fame taped an episode very shortly before his murder. That episode never aired though, bizarrely, they decided to recreate the event in the movie about Crane's death called Auto-Focus.

Due to his convincing portrayal of a Greek immigrant, Gerussi was often mistakenly thought of as an immigrant himself. In fact, he was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta. I remember they blew the budget one season by actually filming an episode or two in Greece. But the show was primarily shot in and around the town of Gibsons Landing, B.C., northwest of Vancouver and accessible by ferry. Molly's Reach, the cafe at the heart of the series and the show's most famous standing set aside from the boats Nick and Relic drove, is today a top tourist attraction and is actually an operating restaurant.
