Attempt a reviving the 1969-1974 sitcom The Brady Bunch as a hybrid sitcom/musical-variety series. Eve Plumb, the actress who played Jan Brady in the original series, was the only cast member to refuse to participate.

Series title later shortened to The Brady Bunch Hour.

Further revival attempts would occur with the sitcom The Brady Brides in 1981 and the comedy-drama The Bradys in 1990, but the events of the variety series (which featured the characters addressing viewers) are not considered "canon."

23skidoo 10th Jun 2015		Surely one of the most bizarre concepts in TV history, turning a sitcom into a variety show. Amusingly this occurred (sort of) again 35 years later when the reality show The Osbournes was revamped into a variety series that I believe joined Turn-On as one of the few US network shows to be cancelled after a single episode. Apparently one reason why so few episodes of the Brady Bunch Variety Hour were shown is the show didn't have a regular broadcast schedule; according to Wikipedia it was originally intended to air every five weeks, for some reason. I was just looking at some of the episodes on YouTube and you know you're in trouble when in one of the later episodes you had Redd Foxx, at the time one of the top TV stars with Sanford and Son, come on to essentially defend the Bradys!
