 I believe this was the first Canadian-made TV series to be successfully syndicated internationally. You'll probably find a lot of the stereotypes associated with Canada were established by this show. I also believe (but could not confirm so I didn't put it in the Notes) that Gordon Pinsent's Mountie character may have been an inspiration for the later Const. Fraser on Due South. (Coincidentally, but likely not, Pinsent later appeared on Due South as well.)
