Preceded by a TV movie pilot that aired in 1987.

Jacko (a.k.a. Mark Jackson) was an Australian-rules football star who had recently gained notoriety in the US for appearing in TV commercials for products like batteries. This was around the time that interest in Australian culture was high in the US following the success of the film Crocodile Dundee, and in fact Jacko's character was in fact partially inspired by Paul Hogan's film character (both being Outback survival experts).

23skidoo ● 30th Jul 2015		I wonder how many of our Australian friends remember Jacko? Or knew about this ill-fated attempt at making him a TV star in the US? Sam J. Jones, meanwhile, is also known as Sam Jones, a.k.a. Flash Gordon. Badler went straight from this into Mission Impossible. Russ went on to do a little thing called Star Trek.
