Richard Kiel (a.k.a. Jaws in the James Bond films) was originally cast as The Hulk but was deemed too skinny for the part. Footage of him as the Hulk was was still used in the first pilot film.

Parts of the Spielberg film Duel turned up in one episode. People noticed! :erk:

He may have invented it but I'd rather see someone like Salma Hayek having a wardrobe malfunction if that's okay.

A little remembered aspect of the later TV movies was they were the first attempt at launching a Marvel Cinematic Universe-style shared universe, as they introduced Thor and Daredevil years before they turned up in the movies.

Although dismissed by some folks today as being campy, Bixby's Incredible Hulk was actually played straight. The Hulk only appeared briefly in most episodes and the series was more closely patterned after The Fugitive. It was also an Emmy-winning series winning for Mariette Hartley's guest appearance in one episode. The chemistry between Hartley and Bixby was so strong that they later reunited for a series of TV commercials for I believe Polaroid cameras, and later still the sitcom Goodnight Beantown.
