Spin-off of All in the Family and the longest-running series in the franchise, lasting 11 seasons. Also had its own spin-off, the short-lived Checking In.

Mike Evans was replaced as Lionel for 3 seasons by Damon Evans (no apparent relation) before returning to the series.

Notable for being the first major US TV series to feature an interracial marriage.

23skidoo ● 9th Jun 2015		Interesting trivia: the show's famous theme song was co-written and sung by Ja'net Dubois who at the time was starring in Good Times, which was another All in the Family spin-off, although once removed. Although the show made some history for featuring the Willises, US TV's first ongoing interracial married couple, the show was also notable for the May-December age gap between its stars: although they always looked more or less the same age, Isabel Sandford was actually 21 years older than Sherman Hemsley!
