TV Series
Notes The last of the Gerry Anderson Supermarionation series, this short-lived program was cancelled by studio head Lew Grade over fears star Stanley Unwin's use of comedic gibberish would alienate US viewers. Unwin (who plays a character of the same name) not only provides the voice for his marionette doppleganger, but as the series makes greater use of live-action footage than previous Supermarionation shows, he was also filmed in wide angle shots. Gerry Anderson would attempt one further Supermarionation series, a pilot titled The Investigator in the early 1970s, before retiring the format to focus on live-action series; production of Secret Service happened at the same time as UFO.
