Connors' character was never identified by a full name on screen, though the first name Nick was used in a few episodes, befitting his role as an undercover agent for the police. The series was one of several of the era (such as The Untouchables) that was controversial for its violence.

23skidoo 14th Jul 2015		@Monolith - Just how old are you? (Just kidding!) I read somewhere that the odd placement of the gun was the show's gimmick. At first I thought it was impractical but according to the Wikipedia write up the concept was he carried two guns. A regular gun that was holstered in the normal way; when the bad guys searched him for weapons they'd find it and then like dummies not bother checking for another. So he'd be able to get the drop on them. The opening credits show him using the gun to shoot down a bad guy. I've never seen this show myself but the concept apparently is the same as that used by Wiseguy years later, where the hero infiltrates gangs and organized crime to a degree that even the cops aren't all aware he's on their side.
Monolith 14th Jul 2015		I seem to remember this was the dude who had his handgun holstered on the back of his waistband instead of his hip or shoulder. The coolest thing I had seen at the time.
