Notes

Educational series traditionally broadcast weekdays in the early morning hours (6 AM or earlier) on CTV in Canada. This was an early example of "distance education" as viewers were able to experience lectures delivered on television on wide-ranging subjects. Best remembered, however, for its electronic theme music.

Series had no regular hosts, though lecturers would sometimes take over entire weeks to cover themes and topics.

23skidoo 20th Jul 2015		This show used to terrify me as a kid. I'd get up early in the morning, turn on the TV, and THIS is what I'd see and hear. Today I think it's one of the coolest theme songs in Canadian TV history. This is the closing credits so you get to hear the full theme. Doctor Who has nothing on University of the Air in delivering a theme that for a 5 year old was pure terror! During the show's heyday there was no such thing as cable TV in my part of Canada and we had a choice between two channels and at 6 AM the CBC was still off the air. This video is dated 1978 but the theme was in use since at least the early 70s.
