Broadcast in the US as part of the umbrella series Masterpiece beginning Jan 2017. Originally planned as an 8-episode miniseries, it was renewed for a second series midway through its UK run (plus a 2017 Christmas special) and a six-series run is currently envisaged.

Most episodes aired on PBS contain approximately five minutes of additional footage not seen in the UK broadcasts or on DVD. Some PBS broadcasts have also been edited together to form double-length episodes. A standalone Christmas special also aired in 2017.

23skidoo 14th May 2023		A number of online sources have cited ITV as saying they have no plans for a fourth series of Victoria, so I've put an end date of 2019 to this. If a further season is eventually commissioned, this can be updated.
23skidoo 28th Sep 2016		This series has been renewed for a second season, and it deserves it. It's a wonderful show that successfully recreates the Downton Abbey mood. It's also a show that - even though they touch on a few adult topics - the whole family can enjoy. EDIT (March 2021): Officially the series is "on hiatus" and has not been cancelled, though ITV has not announced when it will return for a 4th series and this delay has allowed its star to (so far) film two mini-series and (scheduled for spring 2021 production) two movies. Edit (Fall 2021): There was a media report over the summer of 2021 that the series has been cancelled, but as this was denied by the network, the show remains "on hiatus" though since the last update, Jenna Coleman has been signed to two TV series (The Sandman and The War Rooms) so it will be a multi-year hiatus, it appears.
