Initially titled Weird or What? With William Shatner, although for reasons unknown the US broadcasts of the first season did not include William Shatner as host, but versions aired in Canada and elsewhere did. When all regions began airing the show with Shatner's segments the title was changed to William Shatner's Weird or What?

The concept and format of the series was virtually identical to Leonard Nimoy's In Search Of..., with the main difference being that, while Nimoy's hosting segments were played straight, Shatner's tend to be more light-hearted and comedic.

Neil Forbes 29th Jun 2015		Must be difficult, taking with your tongue in your cheek! Might garble the words a bit(ha-ha). I've got an episode of this tucked away on my external hard-drive, an episode dealing with a favourite subject of mine, ghosts.(Boo!)



23skidoo 29th Jun 2015		I had no idea Shatner wasn't featured in the US version of season 1. Anyone know why he was edited out that first year? Half the fun of this show is Shatner's tongue-in-cheek inserts. I have no idea if that means someone else narrated the first season; I haven't been able to track down a copy of a US episode from that first year to compare.
