Focus B 19th Apr 2016 | | TVDanger Man (1960 - 1968) | Agreed they are entirely different programmes. It's interesting to note Christopher Benjamin's character Potter appeared in Danger Man, "Koroshi" and The Prisoner, "The Girl Who Was Death" however!

Focus B 23rd Jun 2015 | | TVThe Big Match (1968 - 1992) | That's the one TP! Many thanks. I guess the font name came later as it was used on the picture sleeve of The Herd's Paradise Lost single in 1967.

Focus B 22nd Jun 2015 | | TVThe Big Match (1968 - 1992) | 100% agree The Judge. Tyne Tees Television had Shoot. HTV usually took The Big Match but occasionally ATV's Star Soccer. Southern Television I seem to remember had a hybrid programme titled (I think was), South Sport Soccer And The Big Match with both Southern star and London Weekend captions split screened and chroma keyed at the end.
Always loved that font used on this and World Of Sport up to the end of the '70s. Any ideas what it's called?

Focus B 20th Jun 2015 | | TVPipkins (1973 - 1981) | I got the impression the intention was to make another series if "Inigo Pipkin", the puppet maker. With the death of George Woodbridge they amended the title of the programme. I remember watching the first episode of "Pipkins" which started with the puppets and Johnny talking to each other about Inigo. Johnny turns to the camera to tell viewers the sad news that Mr. Pipkin had died.
As an eight year old I remember laughing out loud in disbelief that a pre-school series would mention the death of its main character, certainly was a brave move.
The first series of "Pipkins" kept the same theme song with amended lyrics, "Here Come The Pipkins" in place of "Inigo Pipkin".
