Underbelly (2008)
Brilliant. Just brilliant.

This first series of Underbelly (each series has a different title) is based on true events that happened in Australia's criminal underworld. Indeed the series was so close to reality that it was banned from being shown in the state of Victoria, due to fears its showing could prejudice ongoing trials against leading gangland criminals.

If you haven't seen it... you've missed out - seriously recommended viewing.

Give Us A Break (1983 - 1984)
I read the novelisation of this years and years ago but have never seen the TV series - anyone seen it? Is it any good? It was written by Geoff McQueen (The Bill).

Knowing Me Knowing You With Alan Partridge (1994 - 1995)
Originally a Radio 4 series, prior to its move to TV - the radio shows are equally excellent and well worth seeking out.

Let The Blood Run Free (1990 - 1992)
This was just great. In the UK it was shown on Channel 4 at some ungodly hour - I used to record it.

Utopia (2013 - 2014)
Nice one, you won't regret it... be warned, it's quite shocking in places.

Still can't believe they didn't renew it (though there is a kind of conclusion to series 2, so it could be worse).

One of the most striking things about it is the photography and colour - it's meant to look like a comic book (I think), and it's very very clever indeed.

Ben And Holly's Little Kingdom (2009 - Now)
1999 is too early, it's fairly recent (my daughter loves it)... 2009 seems correct, I'll change.

Probably just a typo.

Utopia (2013 - 2014)
One of the most original and striking TV series for many a year. Absolutely brilliant. And Channel 4 in their infinite wisdom canned it after two series, chasing ratings instead of quality original art. They should be ashamed.

Sugar Rush (2005 - 2006)
I couldn't find the title screen. There are a few clips on YT but none include opening titles. Hence I used the DVD image as it was better than no image at all.

Ray Donovan (2013 - 2020)
Trailer for the imminent third season... can't wait! It appears Ian McShane is joining the cast, not to mention a certain Katie Holmes...

Ray Donovan is shown in the UK on Sky Atlantic.

There's also a modern version of this on one of the kids channels on Sky. Not a patch on the original, obviously!

I'd go with a new entry for Heroes Reborn due to it having a different name.

Finally quit this about five years ago. It had its moments over the years but I thought it was time to leave it behind (still hooked on Emmerdale and Corrie though!).

Street Hawk (1985)
Surprised to see this was only one series - I remember it well and thought it was more than that. It was a clear cash-in on the Knight Rider phenomenon, but on two wheels instead of four, as I recall.

Banished (2015)
It divided opinion and didn't garner much in the way of acclaim, but I really enjoyed this series (ludicrous though it was in places) and was disappointed when the news broke that there was to be no second series.

Gritty escapism (literally, on occasion). Nowt wrong wi' that.

Reginald D. Hunter's Songs Of The South (2015)
Quite brilliant. A three part series featuring Hunter travelling around the Southern United States, examining the people and places via their musical heritage.

Outstanding.

Living With The Enemy (1998 - 1999)
I really liked this series, which basically forced people of opposite views and lifestyles to share each others lives for a week, as a kind of social experiment.

Here's the episode I remember best, where a Tory councillor has to live with a group of New Age travellers...
