nboldock 4th Jul 2015 | | TVUnderbelly (2008) | Brilliant. Just brilliant.
This first series of Underbelly (each series has a different title) is based on true events that happened in Australia's criminal underworld. Indeed the series was so close to reality that it was banned from being shown in the state of Victoria, due to fears its showing could prejudice ongoing trials against leading gangland criminals.
If you haven't seen it... you've missed out - seriously recommended viewing.

nboldock 1st Jul 2015 | | TVGive Us A Break (1983 - 1984) | I read the novelisation of this years and years ago but have never seen the TV series - anyone seen it? Is it any good? It was written by Geoff McQueen (The Bill).
nboldock 1st Jul 2015 | | TVKnowing Me Knowing You With Alan Partridge (1994 - 1995) | Originally a Radio 4 series, prior to its move to TV - the radio shows are equally excellent and well worth seeking out.
nboldock 1st Jul 2015 | | TVLet The Blood Run Free (1990 - 1992) | This was just great. In the UK it was shown on Channel 4 at some ungodly hour - I used to record it.

nboldock 30th Jun 2015 | | TVUtopia (2013 - 2014) | Nice one, you won't regret it... be warned, it's quite shocking in places.
Still can't believe they didn't renew it (though there is a kind of conclusion to series 2, so it could be worse).
One of the most striking things about it is the photography and colour - it's meant to look like a comic book (I think), and it's very very clever indeed.
nboldock 30th Jun 2015 | | TVBen And Holly's Little Kingdom (2009 - Now) | 1999 is too early, it's fairly recent (my daughter loves it)... 2009 seems correct, I'll change.
Probably just a typo.
nboldock 29th Jun 2015 | | TVUtopia (2013 - 2014) | One of the most original and striking TV series for many a year. Absolutely brilliant. And Channel 4 in their infinite wisdom canned it after two series, chasing ratings instead of quality original art. They should be ashamed.
nboldock 29th Jun 2015 | | TVSugar Rush (2005 - 2006) | I couldn't find the title screen. There are a few clips on YT but none include opening titles. Hence I used the DVD image as it was better than no image at all.
nboldock 28th Jun 2015 | | TVRay Donovan (2013 - 2020) | Trailer for the imminent third season... can't wait! It appears Ian McShane is joining the cast, not to mention a certain Katie Holmes...

Ray Donovan is shown in the UK on Sky Atlantic.
nboldock 23rd Jun 2015 | | TVTipping Point (2012 - Now) | Also available as a smartphone/tablet game.
nboldock 23rd Jun 2015 | | TVInspector Gadget (1983 - 1986) | There's also a modern version of this on one of the kids channels on Sky. Not a patch on the original, obviously!
nboldock 22nd Jun 2015 | | TVHeroes (2006 - 2010) | I'd go with a new entry for Heroes Reborn due to it having a different name.
nboldock 20th Jun 2015 | | TVCommon As Muck (1994 - 1997) | This was great - I was a big fan.
nboldock 20th Jun 2015 | | TVEastEnders (1985 - Now) | Finally quit this about five years ago. It had its moments over the years but I thought it was time to leave it behind (still hooked on Emmerdale and Corrie though!).
nboldock 20th Jun 2015 | | TVStreet Hawk (1985) | Surprised to see this was only one series - I remember it well and thought it was more than that. It was a clear cash-in on the Knight Rider phenomenon, but on two wheels instead of four, as I recall.
nboldock 19th Jun 2015 | | TVBottom (1991 - 1995) | Police officer: Do you realize that newspaper's upside down sir?
Eddie: ...so are my eyes.
nboldock 18th Jun 2015 | | TVThe Mersey Sound (1963) | Was this a series or a one-off?
nboldock 17th Jun 2015 | | TVBanished (2015) | It divided opinion and didn't garner much in the way of acclaim, but I really enjoyed this series (ludicrous though it was in places) and was disappointed when the news broke that there was to be no second series.
Gritty escapism (literally, on occasion). Nowt wrong wi' that.
nboldock 17th Jun 2015 | | TVReginald D. Hunter's Songs Of The South (2015) | Quite brilliant. A three part series featuring Hunter travelling around the Southern United States, examining the people and places via their musical heritage.
Outstanding.
nboldock 17th Jun 2015 | | TVSnub TV (1989 - 1991) | Read all about it...
nboldock 17th Jun 2015 | | TVLiving With The Enemy (1998 - 1999) | I really liked this series, which basically forced people of opposite views and lifestyles to share each others lives for a week, as a kind of social experiment.
Here's the episode I remember best, where a Tory councillor has to live with a group of New Age travellers...

nboldock 17th Jun 2015 | | TVHomeland (2011 - 2020) | Based (loosely) on the original Israeli series Prisoners Of War.
nboldock 17th Jun 2015 | | TVBrass Eye (1997 - 2001) | Remember kids...Cake is a made-up drug.
nboldock 16th Jun 2015 | | TVBand Of Gold (1995 - 1997) | Cannot find the titles anywhere, so have used a promo shot (found online) for now.
Brilliant series this.
nboldock 16th Jun 2015 | | TVGoing For Gold (1987 - 2009) | I didn't realise there'd been a revival of this on Channel 5. I remember the original show, I used to quite like it, though it was a bit bizarre at times.
nboldock 16th Jun 2015 | | TVFalcón (2012) | Shown in the UK on Sky Atlantic.
nboldock 16th Jun 2015 | | TVCatchword (1985 - 1995) | I actually once made a computer version of this on the Commodore 64... back then I wanted to be a computer programmer, though it never quite turned out that way of course...
nboldock 16th Jun 2015 | | TVCountdown (1982 - Now) | Indeed it wasn't, though I do like Nick Hewer. Having said that, I rarely watch it these days. Still a classic though.
nboldock 16th Jun 2015 | | TVSoldier Soldier (1991 - 1997) | It was pretty good as I recall - though it is of course responsible for the rise of that legendary musical duo Robson & Jerome...
nboldock 15th Jun 2015 | | TVCHiPs (1978 - 1983) | That's my childhood right there!
