The newly added multicolor label variant is a Columbia pressing, with stamped matrix numbers WWS 8505A-1D / WWS 8505B-1A

Rex Garvin And The Mighty Cravers - Raw Funky Earth (1968)
Promo copies (as with images #3431505 and 3431506) were not pressed by Capitol - typical factory marks are absent. Runout inscriptions for the sides:
ST 1-5130 B-10994
ST 2-5130 B 10995

Fred, does the runout on either side show any XSBV-prefixed numbers? Thanks!

Tom Paley - Folk Songs From The Southern Appalachian Mountains (1953)
Lucky you, I never had the opportunity. Once I locate my copy (I've an idea where it is ; ) ), I will be able to scan the side 2 label ... the side 1 image was recently converted from a Paint Shop Pro image from some 16 years ago.

I have added images of a cleaner cover and labels; acknowledgement to davie gordon. My copy is a $1 thrift shop purchase from Jan 2006.

Ed McCurdy - When Dalliance Was In Flower (1956)
The earlier cover design features W. S. (Bill) Harvey's illustrations. It was replaced with the photo cover, which (BTW) itself features Elektra's founder/president Jac Holzman bending over the shoulder of a young maiden (or "maiclen", as it's spelled here) ... see, for example, Andy Finney's Elektra web site.

Georgiana Bannister - New Songs By John Gruen (1951)
As for the 'LCC' bit in the RCA prefix, acc. to this discogs forum thread, LCC = 33⅓ RPM - LP, Custom, 12". Jac reminisces:
Quote:
I sequenced the songs and took the tapes to Marjorie Tahaney of RCA Records to be mastered and custom-pressed. The first test pressings arrived the following February. Not knowing any better, I had trusted the prestigious RCA to get it right. But the sound was a mess, thin, with very low level, the music barely audible above the surface noise. RCA, wearing its cloak of corporate infallibility, insisted that the pressings matched the level of their calibration disc. "No," argued I, and borrowing a friend's car, drove five hours through a bitter winter night to RCA's studios in New York to supervise another transfer. This time I brought a Scott pre-amplifier, which had a wide variety of equalization, compression, and companding controls, and inserted it into the recording chain between the tape recorder output and the mastering amplifier to achieve a warmer, fuller sound. It worked....

Georgiana Bannister - New Songs By John Gruen (1951)
Jac reminisces:
Quote:
October 10, 1950 is the date on which Elektra became real for me. School had started in late September. I was in my junior year, slogging through the middle of the Hundred Great Books and simultaneously looking for a label name. I recalled a Greek demi-goddess, one of the Pleiades, who presided over the artistic muses. Electra. Electra with a C struck me as too soft. I had always admired the use of Ks as brackets in the Kodak trademark; I liked their solid bite. So I chose a Germanic form and substituted K for C. Much better. Unable to afford special graphics, much less a logo, I turned two Ms on their side to create a distinctive E for the label and the jacket logo.

Georgiana Bannister - New Songs By John Gruen (1951)
Elektra's first release. The labels are a deep blue, almost metallic luster or sheen, which my cheapo HP scanner could not quite capture. Jac Holzman was still a student at St. John's College, Annapolis, Maryland, during the production of this album; the liner shows an Annapolis, Maryland address.

Thanks for checking. Note this is Volume I ... AFAIK there was never a follow-up Vol. II.

Jesca Hoop - Five Songs Live (2014)
This was one of four 'recent' (1992-2015, and the only 10") LPs that I found at a Goodwill thrift shop a month ago, all in sealed condition, for 99c each.

The Beatles Featuring Tony Sheridan - In The Beginning (Circa 1960) (1970)
I'd think that the Capitol Record Club edition should have its own, separate entry ... the SKAO number is not a variant of the Polydor 24- prefixed number.

Various Artists - Folk Banjo Styles (1962)
One of my copies of this LP has the stereo banner as in image #1942526, but has the mono EKL-217 record no. in the UR corner ... with 1970s butterfly labels, however nearly all the EKS-7100-7200-7300s still in the catalog were deleted not long after David Geffen assumed the chairmanship of Elektra / Asylum in 1973.

The later of the two variations of the butterfly label has the 962 N. La Cienega Blvd. address and "A Division of Warner Communications Inc." and WCI logo in the perimeter text [images #2045062 and 2045063].

Larry Birdsong - Come In The Room — Lets Fellowship — Shake A Hand
My efforts to locate any info. about this record using a web search have been fruitless, if not bootless. The Part 1 / Part 2 songs are individually banded, and are listed separately, despite the 2a / 2b and 4a / 4b designations on the label and cover. My copy is a 2005 thrift shop (Goodwill) find ... looks like I paid 69c for it.

Oscar Brand - Every Inch A Sailor (1960)
The gold guitar player label design [images #2037900 and 2037902] was in use from 1961 through early 1966. My copy with these labels is a 99c Goodwill find from 2008, that came with the lyrics booklet.

Erna Berger - Das Sänger-Porträt Erna Berger • I (1962)
My copy [images #2001236 and 2001237] is evidently an export copy (presumably imported by a US company such as Peters International), the Odeon sticker/label seems to have been removed from side 1 at some point.

Les Baxter - Les Baxter's Original Quiet Village
I had expected that this would be a Capitol-Jacksonville pressing, but if so, a '2' seems to have been substituted for the '0' factory mark. I am not certain of the date, though probably within a month later than the Nov 1963 release of the original. This yellow-green label dates to 1969 through 1972?.

The Symphony Of Strings Orchestra Conducted By James Verity - Dublin In A Symphony Of Strings (1961)
This is possibly a reissue of an earlier P.R.I. LP ... the matrix number L-168? is scratched out, both sides, and replaced with 7009 ... although BSN's Tops Mayfair L-1600s page doesn't show it. Hurrah H-1057 looks like a further reissue, with the medleys (tracks A3 and B3) omitted.

Percy Faith And His Orchestra - Themes For Young Lovers (1963)
I have added black "360 Sound" Stereo labels ... I'd think that the CBS labels [images #1607213 and 1607214] were issued in a country other than the USA.

Whence "Larriot"? My copy of this LP is on the Modern Sound label, MS 650.
