annaloog 29th Jun 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumOscar Brand - Tell It To The Marines (1960) | The red labels [images #844223 and 844224] are from a 1969-1970s re-pressing.

annaloog 29th Jun 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumTheodore Bikel - An Actor's Holiday (1956) | It depends what you mean by "reissue" ... the "Vespa cover" is indeed the earlier of the two; the later has the same track listing, with a redesigned cover (I have copies of both). But this album remained in Elektra's catalog from 1956 till the mid-1970s, after Jac Holzman had retired as Elektra's chairman in 1973, and was replaced by David Geffen. I have several copies (all mono EKL prefix, a rumoured stereo apparently was just that), the most recent has the 1969-1970 red label with the large "E" logo.
BTW, the Vespa shown on the cover likely was Jac's, which he mentioned in his reminiscence of his time at Elektra, Follow The Music.

annaloog 25th Oct 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumPaul McCartney - Tug Of War (2015) | On my copy, there is no mention of Hear Music (aside from the HRM prefix), only Concord Music Group / MPL as the label name. The sticker indicates a Barnes & Noble (US book store chain) Exclusive ... whether that applies to the album as a whole, or only to the included bonus 7" single, is not clear. I have added a partial front cover image.

annaloog 21st Sep 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumAr Log - Ar Log III (1981) | My copy managed to find its way to a local Salvation Army thrift store, though the lyrics insert had gone missing along the way.
|
annaloog 9th Nov 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Great Songs Of America (1963) | "Follow The Drinking Gourd" (Track B1) was licensed from Elektra Records. It appeared originally on Theodore Bikel's album, From Bondage To Freedom (Elektra EKL-200). The other cuts appear to have been selected from Columbia's catalog.
