dimitri 23rd Mar 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumDavid Bowie - Heroes (1977) | My friend had the Italian version of this, albeit I can't remember the release date. It came with a poster and I've never seen the poster anywhere else. It was from the Heroes sessions but not the ones we know. Anyone shed any more light on this?

dimitri 18th Apr 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumIgra Staklenih Perli - Igra Staklenih Perli (1979) | Wonderful LP. Like a foreign Hawkwind.
Stand out track for me is Putovanje U Plavo. Although the whole LP is a trip.
Like Brainticket's 'Clestial Ocean' (or others,..) So many foreign sounds just not heard.
If you are reading this, please check them out.
You brought yourself here for a reason after all.

dimitri 2nd Apr 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumDavid Bowie - Don't Be Fooled By The Name (1981) | I bought this 10'' at the time.
I absolutely adore his 60's stuff.
This collection is a stunning 60's collection.
Not weird like Please Mr. Gravedigger stuff, which i also love..
But just great 60's pop.
I also had the Italian Aladdinsane live gig cover which is
considerably worse than the '78 cover.
A 60's Bowie shot would have been cool.
But.. Cashing in is cashing in.
Wonder if David got any kick back on it or was out of the contract by then?!

dimitri 18th Dec 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumIggy Pop And James Williamson - Kill City (1978) | ReviewIn 1974 Iggy advertised his suicide twice on stage but had no takers. Later on in '74 (again) recording w/ Bowie came to nothing. Drug abuse was wild. Bowie gifted him 'Sell Your Love' and he later put on this LP. In 1975 Iggy was broke and in a terrible state. Last straw was getting a job knock back from a McDonalds in L.A. Drug fuelled afternoons took their toll. Finally he checked himself into a mental home for his own good will. To get away from everything and Bowie. Bowie came to visit him with a shopping bag of drugs and pills, which luckily was caught, cause Iggy was dropping anything without even questioning. Anyone around Iggy at the time states that he should have died that year. A year later he and Bowie were staying w/ Tangerine Dream's Edgar Froese in Berlin to get clean. That's another story.
That's a brief history of this LP. It's about as truthful an LP as you can get. All content. No filler.

dimitri 15th Nov 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumLed Zeppelin - 3 Days After | The first Zep bootleg i ever got. Stunningly great show. The theremin solo during Whole Lotta' Love is out of this world, as is the 'Let that boy boogie' segment, it's really pretty wild. Maybe the better of all the Zep bootlegs. The audience really make it all happen. Such excitement!
I had the audio show before i got the bootleg LP, it' a wild show. The kids in the audience make it a real rock n roll show full of emotion. Plant's voice is on top form too. I heard that Zep wrecked a hotel room before the show, had some fun at reporters expense and cops were called etc, so they were wired for the gig.. It shows.
Recommended whatever source you track down.

dimitri 16th Sep 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumDavid Bowie - Space Oddity (1972) | When i was a kid, i had a German import of Space Oddity and Man Who Sold LP's in a single sleeve, double disc set. I got it in something like 1982. Have no idea what label. Maybe Karussell? I've never ever been able to find it again. Can anyone help? I would love to find it again.. It's kinda' special to me. I 've never actually seen it again anywhere.

dimitri 29th Jul 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumDavid Bowie - Pin Ups (1973) | The back cover (bottom right) has one of the most outrageous cut and paste put together pic of Bowie and his white boots ever. They make him look 7ft tall. Not all versions had them this big. Wonderful.

dimitri 1st Jul 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumLed Zeppelin - Live At Fillmore West April 27, 1969 | The abundance of cheap, really crappy-with no thought given as to the art direction of bootlegs thesedays is appalling. These discs are not really worth their weight in plastic. They don't hold too well like the originals. Is this even the original bootlegger? I've seen this label (and a few others) bootlegged by a few others claiming the name. Maybe old fashioned, but i just like my bootlegs with a plain wrapper and bad photo copy. It meant so much.
