GimmeVinyl 13th Dec 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Stooges - The Stooges (1972) | Yeah... I own a French pressing of a Michigan band.. and I live in the metro Detroit area . The LP was mastered on the "quiet side", compared to the "louder" US Electra pressing from 1969.. and yes, 1969 is ok.. all across the USA..
GimmeVinyl 13th Dec 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Doors - The Best Of The Doors (1980) | Mine was manufactured by Columbia House under license..
GimmeVinyl 13th Dec 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumShadowy Men On A Shadowy Planet - Savvy Show Stoppers (1990) | I was a little surprised to see that this LP hadn't been listed yet. I've owned it since the early 90s... Pics coming soon!
GimmeVinyl 12th Dec 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - Introducing The Beatles (1973) | I once had a pretty clean copy of this... Plain black label. I can't remember exactly where I bought it.. I want to say it was at a K Mart! The album suffered a tape transfer problem.. where you could hear an "echo" of a tune for a second or so before the actual track started playing.

GimmeVinyl 9th Dec 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - Something New (1964) | Just picked up a purple label reissue today... I was surprised how nice it sounded! I was expecting it to sound over reverberated, like the Capitol stereo release of Yesterday and Today... But it's not! A welcome edition to my collection!

GimmeVinyl 6th Dec 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - Beatles Broadcasts (1980) | And.. before I forget.. I used to own a copy of this LP as a picture disc!
GimmeVinyl 6th Dec 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - Beatles Broadcasts (1980) | This is an awesome LP of The Beatles on the BBC.. with different versions of I Got A Woman and Sure To Fall that were issued on EMI's edition of the BBC broadcasts. However, they are the same versions used on the radio program that Andy Peebles presented. Now, on to the LP which I currently own.. which is a little different, so being a bootleg, I'm counting it as in my collection. However, the label on my copy is just a blank yellow label.. doesn't even announce which side is A or B. Also.. the back side of the album jacket is a little different.. it has song listings for two LPs. The first listing is the BBC LP, of course... The second listing is for what appears to be the Decca tapes, going by the song list. I will definitely snap a pic of the back jacket and post asap...
GimmeVinyl 3rd Dec 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumBlind Faith - Blind Faith (1984) | Ok... I have no idea when this pressing was issued.. since the catalog number is much like the RSO release, I have to guess that this version was released before that one. If anyone knows, please note it. I bought this one used.. definitely well worth the $3.99 I paid for it!!
GimmeVinyl 3rd Dec 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Capitol High Fidelity Library (1954) | Ok! First off, it's George Fenneman.. famed announcer from Groucho Marx's "You Bet Your Life" radio and TV program. Second of all, A side track three is Nat King Cole, "Love Is Here To Stay", track four is Joe "Fingers" Carr and his ragtime band doing the "Canadian Capers" composition. Lastly, the album I own has the distinct "anvil" mark on the runout, telling us that it's a Scranton PA pressing, which makes sense to me, as VM Corporation was in Benton Harbor, Mich..

GimmeVinyl 2nd Dec 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Sun Records Greatest Hits (2017) | I bought this album just this year at the Cracker Barrel store/restaurant not far from my house. Awesome LP...sounds as good as it looks! I do know for a fact that Roy Orbison recorded "Claudette" at the Sun Studio in '58, but as a demo, and not meant for commercial release.. and here it is!
GimmeVinyl 2nd Dec 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumLenny Bruce - What I Was Arrested For (1971) | This was one of the albums I received from my Aunt Richa when I was a teenager.. played the hell out of it, and got scratched pretty badly. My friend Paul preserved that particular copy.. while finding a clean copy many years later. I found the Casablanca reissue, which still resides in my collection!
GimmeVinyl 2nd Dec 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumRedd Foxx - Laff Of The Party: Volume 2 (1956) | My friend Paul has this... On red vinyl and I believe a plainer black on yellow label. Haven't heard it in years....
GimmeVinyl 2nd Dec 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumGlenn Miller And His Orchestra - Glenn Miller's Original Film Sound Tracks (1958) | I have this double album set. It is definitely the best sounding recordings of the original Glenn Miller orchestra, as was explained in the jacket notes that the film studio used different techniques to record the band as opposed to the Bluebird and Victor recordings. I'd like to know exactly what that technique entailed, because I thought that Photophone wasn't all that silent, nor had the frequency range, or sonic capabilities....
