A1 is an enjoyable pop ballad-- lush, romantic and hypnotic, unlike her other folk/pop material. It received air play in the U.S., but I found no chart listing for the song. 45cat has a note about this. Pub. date 1963 is approximate.

Sunshine appears to re-issue these discs in the U.S. without removing the Peerless logo, etc. Pub. date 1970 is a guess. Abbreviations in song titles stand for "Canción ranchera" or "Balada ranchera."

Earlier pressings of this disc may have used that name form, which was not used either at the beginning of, or later, in her career. First pressings of this disc are probably from 1959.

This title would be written as a question in standard texts: ¿Por qué me habrás besado? This would help remind the person transcribing the data to use the correct words. The lyrics are full of questions: Why did you kiss me? Why did you betray me? etc. Both forms of title are found on the Internet, as is often the case, making it difficult to tell which is correct. On track B8, the singer and composer are the same person. Full name: José María Napoleón.
