Diana Dors - Swingin' Dors (1960)
If anyone is in doubt that Joe Meek engineered this LP I can confirm that Adrian Kerridge told me personally that he was at the session to assist but was not needed as Joe handled it all.
He further said that Diana Dors turned up having learnt all the songs and needed minimum rehearsal - apparently a true professional.
Finally it seems the LP was meant to be pressed in pink wax but ended up red.

Thomas "Fats" Waller - Thomas "Fats" Waller (1965)
These recordings were largely on a glass-like substance and were the private & personal property of Fats Waller. Discovered after his death they were sent to JRT Davies from New York to UK for restoration and issue. Sadly most were smashed en route and these 2 LPs were the result of Davies' two year attempt to rescue what he could from the wreckage by piecing together broken shards.
The recordings have many clicks & pops which Davies could not remove but I suspect with today's technology the task might be easier.

Only 99 copies were issued in a plain white gatefold sleeve.

Tony Osborne, His Piano And His Orchestra - Where In The World? (1958)
This is Nixa's first stereo LP and it seems the label design was rather fancy but the standard plum colour label was used in due course.

Harry Arnold And His Concert Orchestra - In The Still Of The Night (1955)
The sleeve clearly suggests the labels have been incorrectly designated A & B for the track order.intended by Nixa.

Various Artists - Harmonica Rhythms (1954)
UK issues on the London label had a prefix of H to denote "Home" followed by - APB.
Unless uploader has missed off the H this record must be a US issue.

Chico Arnez And His Latin American Orchestra - This Is Chico (1959)
Chico Arnez was actually trumpeter Jackie Davies from Streatham cashing in on the Latin-American craze and making a career from it.

This LP was engineered by Joe Meek who was brilliant with percussion sounds which this LP demonstrates.

Chris Barber's Jazz Band And Skiffle Group - New Orleans Joys (1954)
My copy of this LP is in a non-laminated card sleeve with the date shown as CP 54.11.

I suggest this is the first issue in November 1954. Melody Maker were clearly a bit behind in their reviews.

Mr. Acker Bilk With The Leon Young String Chorale - Stranger On The Shore (1962)
Both mono & stereo formats were issued together but not until May 1962 despite the hit single in 1961.
Amendments to both entries are required.

Chris Barber And His Jazz Band - Jazz Sacred And Secular (1958)
Side 1 label only as same label pressed on both sides - hence composer missing entries.

Carson Robison And His Pleasant Valley Boys - Square Dances (1952)
The Devil's Britches whilst in a dance tempo has no annoying calls is a superb instrumental and an all-time favourite of mine of the era.

Kaleidoscope - Faintly Blowing (1969)
On a Friday in the late 70s I walked into a record shop in Aldershot which was closing down the following day. There were just a dozen or so LPs left in the racks. Unknown to me was Faintly Blowing so I bought it for 25p. When I played it I was stunned that such a record could be so unknown and unwanted - why else would it be still there when almost all others had gone?

It was a gem of a find.

I still have it - mint and with no watermark!

Lonnie Donegan With His Skiffle Group - Lonnie Donegan Showcase (1968)
Since these are 1956 recordings they can't be in real stereo so goodness knows how much these tracks have been ruined by "artificial" stereo.

Elaine And Derek - Elaine And Derek (1961)
Thank goodness the Beatles were just around the corner which effectively scuppered the making of such awful records as this. I don't know what Norman Newell was thinking of...

José Motos - Viva Flamenco! (1960)
This was Motos' second LP recorded in the UK. The first "Introducing JM" was issued on Top Rank and engineered by Joe Meek, supervised by Denis Preston in 1959.

His flamenco playing is acknowledged as some of the best you can hear - a touch of genius. His output was small as he died very young in his 40s - I don't know when but it's likely to have been in the 60s.

Diana Dors - Swingin' Dors (1960)
A pity but this LP was issued in mono despite the fact it was recorded in true stereo at Pye studios and engineered by Joe Meek assisted by Adrian Kerridge.
