nboldock 22nd Apr 2016		Vinyl Album Mike And Lal Waterson - Bright Phoebus (1972)	It is indeed a classic (see Dr Doom's review) and if you have a copy on vinyl you have valuable treasure. The sad tale of the legal wrangling behind this and many other Trailer recordings can be found online, just Google it if you want some sorry reading. Suffice to say the rights are owned by someone unrelated to the band who has hitherto shown no interest in reissuing this vital release. Bah. I only have a digital copy. "Red Wine And Promises" is absolutely stunning and is apparently based on a true story of a time Lal got pissed in Hull's Pearson Park (she would not be the last person to do that!).

nboldock 20th Feb 2016		Vinyl Album Anlaby School Fourth Year Choir With Anlaby School Recorder Ensemble - To Welcome England's Queen (1977)	The tracklisting varies slightly from the labels to the cover. I've gone with the sleeve otherwise I might have to actually play the record, lol. Bought this to add to my Hull collection (yes, I paid actual money for it). The things we do... Released to commemorate the Queen's visit to Hull in 1977, at which the school performed. Track A5 is commentary taken from BBC Radio Humberside.
nboldock 7th Feb 2016		Vinyl Album The Michael Schenker Group - Assault Attack (1982)	Interesting review. I've had this album for years and echo some of the sentiments. I've never been able to decide whether I like it or not! Desert Song is a corker, and I really like Dancer... I don't know, it's just a slightly unusual album and being the only one they did with Graham Bonnet, it doesn't sound quite like anything else they did. I suppose you could say that's what makes it such an interesting release, really... it's definitely one to explore, though, for sure.

nboldock 29th Jan 2016		Vinyl Album Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue (2016)	Bought this yesterday (took great childish delight in texting my young lady - "I've just bought a jazz mag") and just needle-dropped it - sounds fine to me, though I'm no audiophile - chuffed to have it on vinyl for £4.99 - can't go wrong at that price! Never had it on vinyl before so a double win.
