Scratchy45 27th Sep 2018 | | Vinyl Album3 Mustaphas 3 - Bam! Mustaphas Play Stereo (1985) | To my mind this is a 12" single - 45rpm and 6 tracks.
Scratchy45 26th Sep 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumThe George Shearing Quintet And Orchestra - Black Satin (1957) | Have mono release - T858. Will add when I can.
Scratchy45 26th Sep 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumPerez Prado - All Time Dance Favorites | Bought mono copy of this selection with title "Great Mambos and other Latin American Favourites" on BLP 12 Bell Records label (disc) with sleeve saying "Hi-Life Records" with cat# HL 12 on front cover. Both label names quote same label address (1650 Broadway, New York).
Sides A and B are in reverse order to tracklist for this entry. Will put on as separate entry when I have time & opportunity.
Also see German issue with reference to it being Perez Prado's less famous brother. On listening to a couple of tracks, they don't seem to be Perez Prado originals.

Scratchy45 31st Jul 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumPeter Ustinov - The Many Voices Of Peter Ustinov (1973) | Label scans to follow. Also exists in even earlier version as REB 26M
Scratchy45 17th Jun 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumBert Kaempfert And His Orchestra - A Swingin' Safari (1966) | This has been sitting in the "Cheesy Covers" bit of my collection for ages. On hearing the title track this a.m., I realise it was already indelibly stamped in my memory.
Scratchy45 21st May 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumNancy Sinatra - Sugar (1967) | Rather tatty cover added. Surely one of the other 3 owners must be able to better it. Just the one Lee Hazlewood song, though he produces.
Scratchy45 1st May 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumStudents Of The University College Of Wales, Aberystwyth, Under The Direction Of D.Gareth Edwards - Cyfres Yr Ysgol A'r Aelwyd (1969) | Sleeve scans added. Hope the content is better than the Welsh language teaching materials in schools at the time.
Scratchy45 28th Apr 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumPatrice Rushen - Straight From The Heart (1982) | Apologies for the somewhat tatty front cover - sticker damage
Scratchy45 14th Mar 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumVoyage - Voyage (1978) | Scotch Machine" /"Scots Machine" track name varied according to market: "Scots Machine" was used for UK market, allegedly to avoid offence - well that's the wikipedia story anyway....
Scratchy45 9th Mar 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumJimmy Shand And His Band - Comin' Thro' The Rye (1957) | Sleeve and label scans added from later pressing with black-yellow-silver labels.
Front sleeve picture is odd - the photograph credited to the agency A.C.K. Ware includes a hand-drawn Highland couple pasted-in, "Comin' Thro' The Rye", I guess.
Some comment on the piece from which the album takes its name here.
Scratchy45 6th Mar 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Rutles - Shangri-La (1996) | Break-In Master - this is already in the 12" singles section on 45worlds here
I'm not a mod - but in general I'd say that something which is 10" and described as album, Long Play or even Medium Play (e,g, UK Decca 10" in 1950s) belongs here, as does any album reissue - even if comes on several 12" 45rpm discs.... I'm not aware (yet) of any album reissue on multiple 10" discs.
Scratchy45 4th Mar 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumJoe Gibbs And The Professionals - African Dub All Mighty Chapter Two | 2000s reissue/remaster of Lightning LIP 11. Some of the credits on the sleeve are a little eccentric. Scans now added.
Scratchy45 25th Feb 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumDr. Hook And The Medicine Show - The Ballad Of Lucy Jordon (1975) | Also available as 1980 issue CBS S 32087 (which I have) with a slightly different and torso-less grey-green-red cover.
Scratchy45 4th Feb 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumJoni Mitchell - Chalk Mark In A Rain Storm (1988) | Unless someone can prove otherwise, I'd contend that this and the "UK version" entered as WX 141 are one and the same thing.
Fantastic alternative version of "The Tea Leaf Prophecy" with Joni vocal on Herbie Hancock's "River: The Joni Letters" (which I must add to the CD section at some point).
Scratchy45 1st Feb 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967) | @Magic Marmalade - found a thick paper repro copy of the red-white inner (without the "Made in Great Britain - Patents applied for" text) with one of the discs from Perry Como's 40- greatest hits inside.
After a mock argument with the charity shop manager (I just wanted the sleeve for the £1 price of the LP) , I was summarily barred from buying any Perry Como LPs there in the future...
Non-original or repro, it'll look nice with the orphan of the two copies of Sgt Pepper I bought at Christmas where I mixed and matched inserts and inners to end up with a fully-furnished copy as a gift for my brother.
Scratchy45 16th Dec 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumValdy - Landscapes (1973) | Bought as it was cheap and I could see most of the L.A. Express as players in the credits (John Guerin, Max Bennett, Larry Carlton, Joe Sample.. ). To my mind they don't redeem it (apologies to any Valdy fans out there - Joni Mitchell remains my favourite Canadian in L.A.).
Scratchy45 16th Dec 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumBryan Ferry - Let's Stick Together (1977) | @Lee Wrecker - if you don't mind me butting in I think I can answer the question. Roxy Music, Bryan Ferry, Eno and other acts were signed with EG. EG's distribution changed from Island to Polydor (which even Wikipedia gets right).
Scratchy45 1st Dec 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - The Beatles´ Greatest (1966) | Tylerl's comments from other issues about 5-beat hi-hat intro apply to my copy (deadwax YBEX 50069-1, side 1 only).
Scratchy45 16th Nov 2017 | | Vinyl Album[unknown artist] - The Big Top Hits Of 1980 (1979) | @leonard It would indeed be strange in a time-travelling way if they were 1980 hits, but on looking at a few titles they do seem to be hits released during 1979. Compilations of cover versions do sometimes have rather misleading titles...:-)
Scratchy45 6th Nov 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumBrian Eno - David Byrne (1981) | Original UK issue, before "Qu'ran" was substituted.
Scratchy45 30th Oct 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumDudley Moore - Bedazzled (1968) | Scans added courtesy of my brother - whose copy this.is
Scratchy45 20th Oct 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Chico Hamilton Quintet - Chico Hamilton Quintet (1955) | Cover badly damaged to front, so just labels added.
Scratchy45 19th Oct 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumLittle Feat - The Last Record Album (1975) | Short and sweet... though hardly mainstream
"You know her toes were so pretty.. "
[YouTube Video]
Scratchy45 7th Oct 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumDusty Springfield - Golden Hits (1967) | Either there are two tints of the cover, or else the scan already here is washed-out. The main colour on my front cover is yellow.
Either way I'd better scan anyway as despite BIEM on label there is no "Made in Holland" on my labels.
Scratchy45 30th Sep 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumThe George Shearing Quintet - Mood Latino (1961) | Also issued in a Stereo version on ST 2326 (which I have) - but p-marked 1965 and with a "Sold in the UK subject to..." statement. The 1961 date certainly holds for the US/Canada, and maybe for the original UK issue, but scans for the one currently pictured above may be a later reissue as there's no "Sold in the UK Subject to..." statement.
I've seen blurry pics of a mono issue online with what seems like a 1965 p-mark and "Also issued in stereo on.. " statement.
The UK cover's not the same as the US one.

Scratchy45 21st Sep 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumAllman And Woman - Two The Hard Way (1977) | A slightly peculiar thing, this. When Gregg Allman's death was announced recently, there was some reference to this album in passing, and I assumed then that "Gregg Allman and Woman" was album title rather than artist name. I do remember the unlikely couple (in both musical and artistic terms) appearing on "the Old Grey Whistle Test" to promote it at the time of release.
I could maybe understand the billing (if only in 1977 terms) if they'd been on labels with no commercial relation whatsoever, but the strange thing is that Warner Bros was Cher's label (Capricorn was only distributed by Warner brothers) but the album appeared with only the Allman name quoted. Couldn't happen today....
Maybe if Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddlestone's brief personal relationship had extended into a musical collaboration, performing a song previously recorded by Hank and Audrey Williams, the billing for "The Pale Horse And His Rider" could have been "Taylor Swift and Man".
