| | Anyone have more info on copies that lack crediting A Day In The Life on Side 2?
I recently purchased a mono copy and was surprised to notice it lacked any mention of B6 on the label.
I guess this omission was on very early mono copies only. To the best of my knowledge, all stereo copies credit the song. |

| | @Magic Marmalade - found a thick paper repro copy of the red-white inner (without the "Made in Great Britain - Patents applied for" text) with one of the discs from Perry Como's 40- greatest hits inside.
After a mock argument with the charity shop manager (I just wanted the sleeve for the £1 price of the LP) , I was summarily barred from buying any Perry Como LPs there in the future...
Non-original or repro, it'll look nice with the orphan of the two copies of Sgt Pepper I bought at Christmas where I mixed and matched inserts and inners to end up with a fully-furnished copy as a gift for my brother. |

| | Boy did I have a good day at the charity shops yesterday!
Finally got a copy of this... the great white whale of any bin digger's prospective collection: To find a Sgt. Pepper in a charity shop for a quid.... not only that, I got the US Mystery Tour album, and Abbey Road... one after the other in the same rack (I actually did a little dance when nobody was looking)... bit tatty, but it's in one bit, and crucially... it's mono!
Sounds strange to say, but this is the first time I've ever heard this in mono... and it's so much better than the cruddy stereo mixes on CDs I'd heard over the years.
I may go out again on Monday now... who knows what is lying in wait out there. |

| | Well spotted - I revise my comment accordingly... John - chartreuse; Paul - sky blue; George - tomato; Ringo - fuchsia. |

| | Uhhh...TopPopper I think you may have some discrepency in the order of the boys here. I don't see how Paul's uniform could be considered fuchsia. |

TopPopper 18th Oct 2015
| | OK, strap yourselves in for some blockbusting trivia: the exact colours of the Beatles' "Pepper" suits are as follows: John - chartreuse; Paul - fuchsia; George - sky blue; Ringo - tomato. (Source: Walter Everett, "The Beatles As Musicians", p99.) - so, pub-quizzers out there, if someone asks you where you will find tomato on a Beatles album cover, now you know. |

| | @RC, effectively, they switched the Beatles BACK to Parlophone! They ceased using the Apple label(except for special commemorative issues). The Parlophone label wasn't always orange, sometimes it was black with silver print, much like the examples 5 & 6 provided by Roboleyton, at least as far as layout and logo design goes. |

Record Collector 5th Sep 2015
| | The famous orange label that was most recognisable to us Aussies from 1970 to 1982 when all the Beatles albums switched to parlophone I have two copies one the glossy cover Aussie issue and the other the last album I bought on the 29Th of December 1989 |

Neil Forbes 12th Aug 2015
| | The label images uploaded by Roboleyton would(hazarding a guess) be from somewhere around the early 1970s as it's in 1970 that the label design(across HMV, Columbia, Parlophone and Stateside labels) first appeared as a unifying measure by EMI. |

|
Record Collector 12th Aug 2015
| | The bottom label looks like a 1970's issue as we had the orange label during the seventies and early eighties |

| | You wouldn't think something as innocuous as an inner sleeve would require a separate designer.
...Makes me wish I'd bought the one I found in the bottom of record bin in a chazza a couple of months ago now.... but didn't know if it was just for this title or a general company inner at the time.
We need a dedicated site especially for bits and pieces of records, where you can get that missing sleeve, insert, or even the record (Other than ebay) from someone, or put one up when someone comes across a stray inner or sleeve. |

| | Sleeve designers also know as 'the fool'. They also designed the cover for the move's first lp and painted the mural on the apple records shop in the 60's |

| | I did not kno that!
I have a funny story, at Wintertons auction in Lich some wag had removed the inner sleeve and swapped it with Harry Secombe LP. This was done to put off any potential bidding dealer or collector, so I swapped it back especially as I was not going to bid. Mint fresh ones are highly prized as these often go missing even on nice copies |
