Steve1966 8th Oct 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - The Beatles Box (1980) | Penny Lane has the additional piccolo trumpet ending first released on the US album 'Rarities' a few months before this release.
Steve1966 7th Oct 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - The Beatles Box (1980) | And I Love Her is the version with 3 extra instrumental bars near to the end of the song previously released on the German version of the album 'Something New'. I Feel Fine has the 'whisper' start previously released on the UK version of compilation album 'The Beatles 1962-66'.
Steve1966 6th Oct 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - The Beatles Box (1980) | All My Loving has the hi-hat intro and slightly longer version previously released in Germany and The Netherlands in 1965 on a release entitled Beatles' Greatest.

Steve1966 7th Jun 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumJohn Mayall - The World Of John Mayall (1970) | Cover images added.
Steve1966 24th Apr 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumJohn Lennon - Walls And Bridges (1974) | On the basis that the first picture shown should be the sleeve in its 'at rest/filed' condition should it not be the picture after the disc labels (897103) that is at the top of this listing?

Steve1966 18th Apr 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumBay City Rollers - Wouldn't You Like It? (1975) | I’m just going to say it and suffer the consequences. I got this album for Xmas 1975 as a nine year old. I consider it a masterpiece. All but one song (the single, which is arguably a commercial giveaway) written by two of the band members. Just think about that. These were talented musicians. Every song worthy of note. Think of it as the Beatles Rubber Soul era. No longer boy band but not yet Revolver/Pepper. I truly love it. If you get chance have a listen but make sure it is the UK vinyl track listing as the CD has an extra single thrown in out of sequence which ruins the flow. There I’ve said it.

Steve1966 15th Apr 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumDennis Lambert - Bags And Things (1972) | Grew up with this in the 80s. My dad used to get some weird stuff from 2nd hand shops. Am I the only one who's familiar with this great album?
Steve1966 18th Sep 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumGerry And The Pacemakers - How Do You Like It? (1963) | Cleaner rear cover and disc label images added.

Steve1966 8th Apr 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - From Us To You, A Parlophone Rehearsal Session (1978) | I've just noticed the catalogue no. Very clever. For those in the dark; Abbey Road cover, VW Beetle.

Steve1966 6th Feb 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumYoko Ono - Approximately Infinite Universe (1973) | Stumbled across 'I Want My Love To Rest Tonight' (A3) on YouTube. Prompted me to play, for the first ever time, my near mint UK issue of this album that I bought 35 years ago at a record fair. I'd never played it as I bought it simply for the Lennon connection and I expected little but it's very good. Some great tunes, expertly played with a whiff of a Lennon feel about it. Give it a try if you get the chance. Guitar and backing vocals by Joel Nohnn (John Lennon).

Steve1966 26th Nov 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumMatt Monro - Blue And Sentimental (1957) | USA 12 track 12” release similar to the simultaneously released UK 10 track 10” on Decca. https://www.45worlds.com/vinyl/album/lf1276
Sleeve printed in USA, disc made in England.

Steve1966 5th Sep 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumMatt Monro - My Kind Of Girl (1961) | Missing side 2 image added. Also, A6 says Dan, Monro as composers on the label. On the single release of I'll Dream Of You (b side to Gonna Build A Mountain) it is Dan, Carsons and the EP 'Matt's Kind Of Music', it is Dan, Parsons. On the basis that Matt's real name is Terence Parsons I'm going for Carsons being the odd one out.
Steve1966 17th May 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumMatt Monro - Matt Monro Sings Hoagy Carmichael (1962) | I was suspicious upon purchase of the authenticity of the 'factory sample' sticker but the disc does have 1G stampers on both sides and it looks genuine so who knows. It's not the reason I bought it so it doesn't matter. Stereo was the reason.

Steve1966 23rd Feb 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Parade Of The Pops (1961) | Slightly clearer cover and label images added.
Steve1966 23rd Feb 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Parade Of The Pops (1961) | Test Record images added for two one-sided discs (side 1 and 2 of the released LP). I have a real copy of this release with the matrix numbers ending -2N on side 1, and -3N on side 2. These test records are both -3N so I assume are from later masters although the dates are similar to the release date of the LP? This LP is basically a live album of the popular radio show complete with compère and studio audience, and includes two rare tracks by Matt Monro.
Steve1966 21st Feb 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumCharles Chaplin - The Chaplin Revue (1960) | Looks like I ran out of characters for track A1. Final two should be A Dog's Life Theme; Green Lantern Snag. Also a mod may need to sort out the Matt Monro appearance as it seems to have linked him and Charles as a duo.
Steve1966 14th Feb 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumVera Lynn - Hits Of The Blitz (1962) | I believe this copy is circa 1967/8 from the inner sleeve details and outer sleeve cardboard thickness (or lack of).
Steve1966 9th Feb 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumMatt Monro - Blue And Sentimental (1957) | After adding this LP I noticed that the label has Robinson as co-author for side 1 track 2, A Cottage For Sale. The sleeve has Robison which is indeed correct. Willard Robison 1894-1968.
Steve1966 17th Dec 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumMatt Monro - Matt Monro And Don Rennie (1965) | Cover and label images added. This release is simply misleading marketing at its worst. Only the first two tracks are Matt Monro (the two sides of an Ember single from 1961). The remaining eight tracks are Don Rennie. Nowhere on the label or the sleeve does it says who sings what. The cover only has a picture of Matt, and the spine simply says Matt Monro. The Don Rennie tracks sound more mid to late 50s to me so in 1965 would have seemed dated? They make a statement on the back which is a vain attempt to explain the logic to the 'famous artist' series. Must have been a few unhappy purchasers.
The sleeve pic has not been cropped badly on the right-hand side, I was merely the victim of an unscrupulous sleeve snipper to give a tidy edge.

Steve1966 10th Dec 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumJim Croce - I Got A Name (1973) | Back cover, inner sleeve and label variation images added.
Steve1966 3rd Dec 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumClifford T. Ward - New England Days (1977) | Album cover / lyric sheet photos added.
Steve1966 23rd Nov 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - From Us To You, A Parlophone Rehearsal Session (1978) | I have a copy of this that has plain white labels on the record (no text) and is pressed on red vinyl.
Steve1966 22nd Nov 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumGoddess Of Fortune - Goddess Of Fortune (1973) | I notice in the dead wax that this has the Lyntone number LYN 3873 and LYN 3874. May be of interest to our Lyntone fans.
Steve1966 17th Nov 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumMatt Monro - Matt Monro Sings Hoagy Carmichael (1962) | I believe the missing writer credits on the sleeve can be explained by the fact that this is a Matt Monro sings Hoagy Carmichael album. Therefore all songs were written by Carmichael and some had lyrics written by others. Carmichael should simply be added to each entry including the blank ones.
Mod.edit.: Fixed

Steve1966 15th Nov 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumClifford T. Ward - Both Of Us (1983) | There was no equivalent UK release for this album as Cliff failed to convince anyone to release it here. This Ireland release was available on import only in the UK. A shame as it contains two stand-out classic CTW tracks, Still Not Free, and The Best Is Yet To Come.
