TOKENHIPPIE 22nd Jul 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Buckinghams - Kind Of A Drag (1967) | The ultimate prize of this album is finding the 13 track lp with I'm a Man as the extra track. Had a chance to see a water damaged cover of this lp in Denver Colorado for 75 bucks in the mid 80's. it's an extreme rarity. 13 tracks were listed on the cover whether the vinyl lp had all tracks I don't know.
TOKENHIPPIE 18th Jun 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Turtles - Turtles' Golden Hits (1967) | Although rare Mono copies do exist. I used to own one back in the late 70's.
TOKENHIPPIE 27th Feb 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beach Boys - Little Deuce Coupe (1963) | VERY GOOD BGAS I made the assumption that the lime green lbl existed because of the burnt orange not red label I own. now it's confirmed
TOKENHIPPIE 28th Oct 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beach Boys - Summertime Blues (1970) | this LP contains songs from Surfin Safari and Surfin USA.
TOKENHIPPIE 28th Oct 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beach Boys - Keepin' The Summer Alive (1980) | Of all things to come up with a deviant label. Purposely said that way. I'm up on my variations on all things Capitol and Reprise, not so much on Caribou. It looks like telew has a different variation on side two from side one . checkm has the same on both labels.
TOKENHIPPIE 27th Sep 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beach Boys - Holland (1973) | I've never found a We got Love on vinyl in Canada, just the title on the album cover. So far I haven't heard any BB collector who has one from Canada on vinyl.
TOKENHIPPIE 21st Aug 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beach Boys - The Beach Boys (1981) | DEUCE is not spelt correctly. it reads DUECE instead. the listing should be spelt DUECE

TOKENHIPPIE 27th Jun 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Yardbirds - The Hits Of The Yardbirds (1967) | The Capitol 6000 series Hits has 3 different tracks than the US counterpart You're A Better Man Than I, Evil Hearted You, and My girl Sloopy. I'm not Talking and New York City Blues were the tracks on US Epic Lp
TOKENHIPPIE 27th Jun 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Yardbirds - Little Games (1967) | Identical track lineup with the US Epic album
TOKENHIPPIE 27th Jun 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Yardbirds - Over, Under, Sideways, Down (1966) | This Capitol 6000 Series album Over Under Sideways Down has two extra tracks. the Nazz are Blue and Rack my Mind with Shapes of Things instead of Jeff's Boogie on the US Epic Lp.
TOKENHIPPIE 27th Jun 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Yardbirds - Having A Rave Up With The Yardbirds (1966) | This Capitol 6000 series album is identical to the US Epic Lp, even the track lineup order
TOKENHIPPIE 27th Jun 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Yardbirds - Heart Full Of Soul (1965) | This is the equivalent of the USA Epic album For Your Love. there's one extra track on the Canadian LP and one different song. Heart full of Soul the title track and Steeled Blues. The Epic album has Sweet Music. For some reason the Canadian release came 3 months after the American issue, which would explain why Heart Full of Soul the current single at the time would be the headliner on the Lp.
TOKENHIPPIE 25th Jun 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beach Boys - Smiley Smile (1967) | I added a green border on the front cover it's the bottom part of album. the first one i added has a greyish border on the bottom. there's also a black border one.
It looks like Canada used the USA front slick and Xeroxed the back cover in black and white it was much cheaper than colour.
TOKENHIPPIE 25th Jun 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beach Boys - Smiley Smile (1967) | You'll note on the front cover on the bottom left corner the Capitol logo is covering the Brother logo on the USA copy. and on the back cover there are black deletions where the USA copy mentions Brother in the bottom left corner and in the middle there's a black deletion where the manufactured in US would be and the cities Jacksonville, LA, etc.... the US sent Canada the Brother LP covers and Canada blacked out the US references including the Brother logo except the ST 9001, Which is probably why Canada used the label # in the States. Capitol of Canada could not use their own Capitol 6000 series because they were using the USA's album cover. it would've looked to messy blacking out all references relating to the States and adding Capitol of Canada's numbering system.
TOKENHIPPIE 20th Jun 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Guess Who - So Long, Bannatyne (1971) | Made in Canada lower left in very small print beside BC. magnifying glass would be helpful

TOKENHIPPIE 8th Oct 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beach Boys - Surfer Girl (1963) | Little deuce coupe mentioned on back of album cover
TOKENHIPPIE 8th Oct 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beach Boys - Little Deuce Coupe (1963) | SORRY Droid not my intention to be obtuse. my error anyway it should be 489266 cover litho in USA is typed sideways along side the Capitol dome logo. I'm a little late in responding but it states T 1998 instead of the St 1998 along the side of the Litho'd in USA
TOKENHIPPIE 25th Jun 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beach Boys - Summer Days (And Summer Nights!!) (1968) | The DT 8 2354 is missing from the front cover. but the 3 stripes are there to indicate a record club.
TOKENHIPPIE 7th Feb 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beach Boys - The Beach Boys Deluxe Set (1967) | the labels are the same as the Mono albums from Today, Summer days, and Pet Sounds. Capitol Distributed T 2269, T 2354, & T 2458. This was one way to get rid of the Mono surplus stock Capitol had in its' inventory. Mono box set has a black spine as shown in the above image.
TOKENHIPPIE 7th Feb 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beach Boys - 20 / 20 (1969) | Capitol Record Club was issued in a single jacket unlike the regular issue with a gatefold cover.. there is no Red and White Starshaped Starline label issued as a Capitol Record Club
TOKENHIPPIE 20th Sep 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beach Boys - Beach Boys Concert (1964) | Evidently early pressings of Concert has the raw live version of I get Around. Brian would go back into the studio and redo some of the vocals on certain songs. I guess I get Around wasn't ready yet when the initial pressings were issued. But subsequent pressings have the redone vocals
TOKENHIPPIE 20th Sep 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beach Boys - Good Vibrations (1970) | GOOD VIBES REC CLUB has a white border around the album cover. the regular issue is all black. i scanned the spine it shows DT 80442 . this was a sealed copy for at least 25 yrs. i finally opened it. Oh my goodness I can hear these American collectors clutching their chest at the mere thought of opening a sealed album from the 60's or 70's i had to find it for sure if the label was green or burnt orange. as You can see it's the lime one. I hope all you American collectors have recovered from such a horrifying thought of opening a sealed album.
