Fairport Convention - What We Did On Our Holidays (1968)
Quick comment re these pressings. One shown is original front laminated with pink Isand label 'eye' logo to left. Next pressing (about 6 months or so later) fully laminated cover with 'eye' logo central. Pics pending.

Vinyl Album
Nina Simone - Silk & Soul (1968)
This is the stereo issue. Our question: Was this released on the black/silver UK RCA Victor label as per the MONO, or was this issued slightly later and therefore tipped over onto the orange label, or were all stereo labels orange ?

Vinyl Album
Eddie Cochran - Singin' To My Baby (1958)
We have an unusual copy with no info about it that we can find. The back cover has internal flaps and printed by 'Robert Stace'. Otherwise it is the same as the flipback issue except the printer credit and a thin lamination down the spine?!
Pics pending.

Vinyl Album
Connie Francis - Date With Connie Francis (1966)
The test pressing shown as the plain labels came with an unfinished cover the same as the normal copy. The release date is shown on the back cover as '6610'. There was a similar titled Japan 10" from 1962 with different tracks and sung in english.

Vinyl Album
Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin III (1970)
There are various different labels in the red/purple series.
The one shown is 1st issue with incorrect credit for Peter Grant
Next came that incorrect credit stickered over
Next (probably) came 'Producer: Jimmy Page' which was placed at the bottom of the label below the track listing
a) below 'Warner Bros. Music' or b) above 'Warner Bros. Music'
However there exists a copy with NO producer credit on side two.
(pics pending)
The rotating cover was also made in West Germany and some of the covers were shipped to the UK when cover supplies ran into difficulties. Within the 'Made in Germany' sleeve was the 3rd state red/purple pressing.
Furthermore the special cover was used for later pressings into the 90s where all Atlantic vinyl was pressed/manufactured in Europe-usually Germany.
Despite the cost of producing the cover the 90s issues were budget priced 'Prime' series usually with a large yellow sticker with a large '!'
The construction was very similar to the original with heavy card and was also laminated inside and out albeit 'modern' lamination.
The vinyl was typical 90s pressing weighing in at 110 grams as opposed to the 130-140 grams of the 1st pressings
The cover however weighs 225 grams (and 215 on the 90s repress) !
By the way there is a grommet but is is concealed below the front cover and inside front cover but can clearly be felt

Vinyl Album
The Bee Gees - The Bee Gees' Greats (1971)
Not sure about the release date - more likely a 60s issue - most say 1968 probably because it says that on the label but then the tracks are from then....
BUT there is another cover possibly pre-dates the usual cover you see everywhere. This has an orange border on the front and a darker clearer (better!) picture. It is also fully laminated. In all other respects including the layout it is exactly the same including the disc.
Pics pending.

Vinyl Album
Various Artists - "I Love Melvin" Selections From The Sound Track Of The M-G-M Film (1952)
Have a copy of this with similar sleeve to the 'Song and dance man' (117) (& previous MGM entry-104) without the huge black MGM logo. Assume that the version showing above is the 2nd pressing when MGM re-designed their 10" LP sleeves. Curiously it has 'Salvage' embossed on the cover and on the B label !
Pics pending.
