Cy Walter, who was a long-time American cafe society pianist in New York City, had recieved classical piano training from his mother. Accordingly, Mr. Walter had been offered various piano jobs at diverse night clubs from his early adulthood to the time that he was called to armed forces duty in the United States Marine Corp.

After Mr. Walter's armed forces duty were completed, he was a member of the Piano Playhouse radio program that was broadcast by means of the ABC network. The 21 December 1945, Mr. Walter had opened the elegant Drake Room at the Drake Hotel where he had played rare tunes that had never reached any Hit Parade. Furthermore, Mr. Walter also had sounded timeless tunes that were believed to have been forever lost.

By means of this disc of 33.33 rpm, Mr. Walter had played tunes all of which were composed by Richard Rodgers, in such a unique way that these tunes became in demand to the level where previous Broadway productions became in demand by new generations of spectators.
