Vinyl Album
Notes Warne Marsh was a tenor saxophonist who was tutored by Lennie Tristano. While Mr. Marsh had become pre-eminent saxophonist of the "Cool School" of jazz musicians, he was called the greatest vertical improviser that had emphasized harmony and cords more than melody. By means of these tunes, Mr. Marsh is accompanied by Ronnie Ball (pianist), Paul Chambers (bassist), Philly Joe Jones (drummer) and Paul Motian who was also a drummer. Despite the prosperous career of Mr. Marsh, this Atlantic disc sold very poorly. However, this disc has become a highly-sought item for jazz and other types of record vinyl collectors. In fact, this disc of 33.33 rpm is valued at $175 by means of near mint condition. Finally, a sealed copy of this Atlantic disc can be sold for at least $300 or more.
