Roter Mohn was also a very famous song for South-American singer Rosita Serrano. She recorded in Germany a lot of songs in various languages with South-american flavour on Telefunken-records during the 1930-40s
Orthography varies slightly on container for track B4: Weil ich weiss, du kommst wieder.
Roter Mohn is one the songs played in my high school German class. I remember it clearly because there was some confusion about Mohn and Mond, which sound so similar. (The title means Red Poppy rather than Red Moon). It's always been my favorite Lolita song, a beautifully sad tango (written in 1938) evoking the image of the poppy that loses its beauty overnight.
The entire disc is of "unforgotten melodies" that are sure to appeal to those with an interest in German popular (mostly film) music of the 1930s and 1940s. This recording is all new (in 1963), with excellent sound characteristics.
This Lolita (1931-2010) is Ditta Zusa Einzinger. She was an Austrian native.
