Notes

Robert Bunyan Davie III is an orchestra leader, arranger, composer and pianist of popular music. Mr. Davie had taught himself to play the piano at a very young age, and despised music that was not in the right playing tune. After Mr. Davie had graduated from the Birmingham Conservatory of Music, he had attended Louisiana State University to study music, but decided not to stay due to the fact that he did not want to fulfill a physical education requirement.

After Mr. Davie had relocated to New York City to pursue a music career, he had composed and played the piano by means of the Green Door, which was a top-rated song of Jim Lowe in 1956. Two years later, Mr. Davie had a minor US success with the tune of Woodchopper’s Ball, which was later featured by means of this first Atco album, and was penned by Woody Herman. Also, by means of this disc, Mr. Davie had composed four tunes, which were Rock And Roll Party, Moonlight Cha Cha Cha, Fast Freight and Rockin’ Up A Storm.

Mr. Davie had recorded this Atco disc of 33.33 rpm in 1958 thru which the Honky Tonkers, were his backing band. Even though this disc was not a big seller, Mr. Davie had composed at least fifty tunes, which had become prosperous by means of different artists. Furthermore, Mr. Davie had arranged tunes for Santo and Giovanni, the Angels, Linda Scott and James Ray during his tenure at Canadian-American and Caprice records, which was a subdivision of Canadian-American.

Finally, this Atco disc of 33.33 rpm was monaurally issued by means of a yellow label background that had a black drawing of a harp and the Atco logo in white block letters.
