Notes Nina Moller and Frederik van Pallandt were a vocal couple who started singing together at the age of four years. However, due to the fact that the father of Frederik was the Dutch ambassador to Denmark, the family of Frederik had relocated to different nations, such as China, Russia, India, the United States and Trinidad where Frederik had established a calypso band. When Nina and Frederik were reunited in 1957 at the home of the parents of Nina, Frederik had played calypso music on his guitar, and Nina had begun to sing with him. Afterward, they started singing to their friends and from time to time at house parties. This led the duo to be asked to perform at charity spectaculars, and eventually led them to audition at the Mon Coeur night club of Copenhagen where Nina and Frederik made their professional singing debut. Despite the fact that Nina and Frederik had specialized in calypso, their early discs were recorded in Danish to help promote the calypso music which were virtually unknown and not well-respected toward the end of the decade of the 1950s. Surprisingly, the Scandinavian people were so intrigued by this duo that calypso became more accepted in the Scandinavian and western European countries. When Nina and Frederik had recorded tunes in English, their music was so prosperous that three of their discs of 33.33 rpm had peaked within the top ten best-selling albums hit parade of the United Kingdom. Sadly their United States Atco discs of 33.33 rpm did not sell well in the United States, but this duo was still well-respected in most of Europe. Images
