Notes

Although Bell record company had started to issue discs of 33.33 rpm by means of this catalog numbering system, Bell LP-1 thru Bell LP-44 from the mid 1950s to 1961, this particular Bell disc is the first of the Bell LP-6000 numbering system.

An unusual aspect of this disc is that all the monaural issues of the 6000 LP catalog numbering system had MONO indicated by means of both the a and b sides. Furthermore, almost no other label had mono indicated due to the fact that the mono hi-fidelity discs were still the standard at that time. Consequently, LP discs did not become solely stereofonic until 1968.

Georgia Gibbs was a noted singer in the 1950s who covered popular tunes, such as Dance With Me Henry of Etta James and I Hear You Knocking of Smiley Lewis. Though this Bell disc of 33.33 was the first that was issued in the LP-6000 numbering system, this disc had poorly sold mainly because the majority of music listeners had preferred rock and roll and not easy listening music. Finally, Ms. Gibbs will be remembered for her prosperous covers of rhythm and blues tunes.
