| | Rough labels uploaded. Probably a very early pressing from the old Oriole presses at CBS. |

| | I used to have a copy with rough to touch paper labels. I thought it was Orlake, but it dawned on me that it was like CBS on the old Oriole presses and that is what it was. |

| | The 1970s repress is in true stereo and sounds pretty good, well worth picking up.
There are differences on the labels and quite obvious next to an original 1967 pressing, the music publisher is listed as "Interworld Music Ltd" and there is no triangle with "M 33" (or a stereo pressing would be "S 33"). The front cover is not laminated and has "Jimi Hendrix" added along the top. I am fairly sure that the first 1960s pressing was only in mono so if anyone is offering a stereo 'original' then you'd better check that its not a later pressing before parting with any ££££s.

| | Mine is laminated front-only too. It was originally my mother's and she bought it in 1967. I've never seen a UK copy laminated f&b.
I've long been convinced that "laminated front and back" is yet another in the lamentably long list of errors in the RRPG. I once spotted exactly the same record in three different places in the same edition, all with significantly different valuations. The RRPG makes a good door-stop, but I wouldn't rely on it for much else. |

| | According to the RRPG it exists in either a laminated back and front cover or a matt cover. Just to throw a spanner in the works my copy is ONLY laminated on the FRONT. |

| | Not true...the US/Canadian stereo mixes are of the "true" type...(not-rechanneled)..they're not that great (a handful of tunes has Jimi's lead vocal to one side)...but they're Stereo and were issued in 1967...John |

| | If you look up the wikipedia entry for this album, it details in some depth the recording process/ dates and the studios used on the album. It does mention the whole album was only recorded in mono, due to its success it was quickly electronically reprocessed into Stereo, ie the Stereo versions are of the "fake" type.
Apparently it reached number 2 on the charts and stayed in charts for 33 weeks. |

| | I know the stereo mixes were sent over to my side of the planet (US and Canada) in 1967, anywhere else (Germany, Japan..etc....) needs a catter that is more knowing...John |

| | Again I am not aware that the stereo mixes were commercially released at the time.

| | True stereo mixes were done at the time, but true to form, I prefer the mono. |

| | I believe only released initially in mono. Stereo copies come from the 70's as the original artwork and as part of the Backtrack series. |
