RogerFoster 18th Jan 2024		This LP was listed at #1, and a new entry, in the "Soul City, London" LP chart in the The June 1967 issue of the magazine "Home of the Blues". This suggests that the LP was issued in late April or early May 1967, presumably as a sampler of Soul records that had recently been issued in The UK by CBS.



Madame Streggae 14th Dec 2023		I spotted that Phil - I'd probably always assumed it was a JC original (haven't played his debut album in a while).



PhilMH 14th Dec 2023		"My Ancestors" was also covered by Jimmy Cliff on his self-titled Trojan LP, where it is credited to "Tapp", that being Demetriss Tapp, a/k/a Mrs. Bob Tubert. The BMI database currently shows the writers as Bob Tubert and Demetriss Tubert.



johnnyhotspur ● 13th Dec 2023		I have the one you linked Mark, but don't have this one. I'm guessing A5 Obrey Wilson - My Ancestors is the same as Lou Rawls and Prince Buster's 'Kings Of Old'.
