sladesounds 20th Feb 2017		Have amended the year to 1972.



PhilMH 20th Feb 2017		I just remembered that Gramophone used to review pop albums, so I searched their digital archive and found the review from the July 1972 issue, so probably released in June that year.



PhilMH 19th Feb 2017		1971 at the earliest, as that is when Chess went to Phonogram in the UK. Definitely not 1980, as the label was with Pye/PRT by then.



chrisb 19th Feb 2017		A check around the internet suggests vol 2 and vol 3 came out in around 1972 and 1974 in the UK. So probably this one was originally released sometime between 1967 (the original US release date) and 1972 in the UK. Cat nos (respectively 6641 018, 6641 058 and 6641 117) would suggest this too, coming out as 2LP mid priced sets.
