 Hi, Philips didn't lose the rights to Columbia in 1962; Billboard of 27th January 1962 shows that Philips signed a new two-year deal to release Columbia product on the CBS label, starting in May. Philips did, however, lose the rights to Epic releases, the same article saying that EMI and Pye were trying to get rights (EMI ultimately succeeding, and releasing Epic product on their Columbia label for about the next five years). CBS' UK independence began with their acquisition of Oriole in September 1964 (see Billboard, October 3, 1964), and switching to Oriole distribution on 1st March 1965 (see Billboard, March 6, 1965)

As to how all this affected this Robert Johnson LP, God only knows - maybe all Philips-labelled Columbia product was immediately deleted when the CBS label came into use, or maybe this only had a very small pressing which sold out very quickly.

 Only available for around a month.The Philips group lost the distribution rights to US-Columbia in 1962,when the 10-year contract was up.CBS records were the replacement as an independent label,and this item did not get re-issued until 1966.The UK-Philips issue,as seen here,has always been extremely rare.
