Added original (independent) back cover and labels....this is definitely one of those albums I heard in the store and immediately bought...(also, considering it was issued at the start of the Punk-era)...amazingly of some major FM stations in the New York area were playing "Roadrunner" in heavy rotation.....It wound up being quite a letdown for those who went to see Richman in 1977 and find a quiet minstrel with an acoustic (virtually unamplified) band playing what sounded like children's songs.............According to Jerry Harrison (later talking Heads) and David Robinson (later Cars), Jonathan refused to stay in a "heavy" band so by 1973 they both had left the group (still it's a great album)..................John
Although not released until 1976, these tracks date back to 1971-1972. The labels are "Home Of The Hits" but this release is generally considered part of the Beserkley label and the catalog number fits into their releases. Label head Matthew King Kaufman created this motto/label to promote this particular album and decided to incorporate onto the Beserkley label also.
The only other LP I have ever seen on "Home Of The Hits" label was a local Bay Area comedy release by Scoop Nisker entitled "Scoop's Last News Show" which was a recurring segment on KSAN radio. It had catalog #HH-1911 and seems unrelated to the rest of the Beserkley catalog.
