What Child Is This?
(Greensleeves)
Merry Christmas !
These are some of my favorite hymns and carols, sung especially for you during this joyous season, and I hope you'll enjoy them. Christmas has always been a time for music-a home should be full of it. And some of the most beautiful music I know is contained in these songs. They are all wonderful expressions of the spirit of Christmas, and I've tried to convey that feeling in my singing. With all best wishes for this glorious season,
Johnny Mathis

Now, I have a copy of the mid `60's pressing with the new cover.
Side one looks like there's a kind of dot matrix looking thing stamped into it that is VERY faint, so, it LOOKS like is says "S (either H, M or W, I can't make it out) X7.
Side two has a faint dot matrix A next to a very large hand etched "14".
Other than that, there's only the Columbia master/matrix numbers stamped into it. It doesn't look at al like a Capitol pressing.
Added another set of cover and label variant images. Also added additional catalog numbers PC 8021 and C 8021. Based on the large numerals for the side numbers on the labels and the C 8021 catalog number, my guess is that this copy was released 1985 or later.
Added label variant images identical to label {Images # 508724 & 508725}, with the exception that NONBREAKABLE is not printed below the catalog number and the pressing ring is larger. This copy came with a cover identical to the original cover as shown in cover {Images # 508721 & 508723}. The matrix numbers stamped in the runout are as follows:
Added cover and label variant images tor the 1962-1970 Stereo "360 Sound" labels. Back Cover {Image # 1496766} and back cover {Image # 508723} are the same except for the top, right and bottom edges. The glued on back cover sheet is slightly smaller than the cover dimensions such that the wrap around from the front cover image is visible on the top, right, and bottom edges of the back cover. The back cover for the 6-eye labels {Images # 1496318 & 1496319} has a black top edge, white right edge (from the white spine) and blue-gray bottom edge due to the same cover construction.
I have two `70's pressings. Neither has anything but the matrix numbers, although one has a T on both sides. That one has the matrix suffix 2D on both sides. The other has 1DK on side 1 and 1DF on side 2.
{Images #508724 & 508725} looks like a 1970's pressing from either one of Capitol's plants or, if from c.1978, North American Music Industries (NAMI) of Scranton, PA. What deadwax markings would have been on this copy?
