albert 17th Feb 2025		This is a good selection/mix of the 'punk' records that we used to listen to in the UK, before those who re-write the history of punk told us what they reckoned we listened to. The compilation was released in 1982 when punk was still fresh in people's minds, and although Cherry Red could not license some of the big names eg Sex Pistols, Clash, Siouxsie, (as confirmed in the sleeve notes), they did a good job picking out titles that were mostly released independently and probably had a bigger influence on the young bands that followed.
