Thanks Phil, a lot of these popular records that are reissued countless times are very hard to pin down when they are released every 3-5 years after the initial release. I'm running into big problems with albums from the Warners/WEA stable as they use seem to use the original cat# endlessly.
I'm finally finished with everything I currently have for CD Land (Yehoo) and I'm back here now because someone at my wives' work gave her a 100 and odd albums. They are mostly 70's early 80's MOR but they're in fabulous condition and I've cleaned them up and I'm sorting through them and finding gems like this one. I finally got a copy of Baby Huey the Living Legend last week and I've been after that for 20 years. So it looks like I'll be hanging around this end of 45 Worlds for a while yet. Thanks again for helping me out with a date for this one.
Hi Lee, I don't have a 100% accurate date for this - I didn't start getting Platterlog until 1988 - but Michael deLooper's listing suggests 1978 for the first release of this catalogue number (4 Carole King albums were released with consecutive numbers, including the GREATEST HITS which entered the Australian album chart in April 1978), and no earlier than 1980 for this label design and colour, going by the Epic label page in 45cat. 1977 would have been right for the Ode catalogue going to Epic in the USA.
No date I'm afraid but looks like a late seventies early eighties copy to me. I've had a squizz around the net but can't be certain as Discogs lists this cat# as 1977 but with a the orange Epic label. So this copy would be later than that or as is sometimes the case with Discogs may well be that copy and they have made a mistake. Calling the Mighty Datemeister PhilMH and oh, I've left the date blank so it can be Philled in too.
